Camp Overview

The 7th Annual “Strive for Excellence” Spring Break Training Camp will be held from March 14-22, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. This camp provides young golfers with a unique and enjoyable skills development opportunity.

Participating athletes will receive professional coaching, structured practice, and simulated competition. The camp is designed to train and prepare players for the 2009 competitive season and beyond.

There will be considerable emphasis on the establishment of key competitive golf skills and habits. All important competitive golf preparation habits, execution strategies, rules, and game management tactics will be taught and reinforced. Players will be able to transfer new skills to an on course competitive environment.

There will be a 54 hole “Ryder Cup” Team Competition contested, the players will get an opportunity to observe the world’s best players preparing and practicing at the PGA Tour’s "Transitions Classic", and then compete in the 54 hole SFE Spring Break Championship Tournament during the final three days of the camp.
 

Camp Objectives

  • To provide players with an outstanding development and personal growth experience
  • To provide first rate coaching, training, and feedback to participating athletes
  • To transfer skills and habits to the course under tournament pressure
  • To introduce, learn, and apply key competitive golf skills and habits
  • To practice, train, and prepare for the 2007 competitive golf season
  • To interact and get first hand exposure to PGA professioanls and an NCAA Div I golf program
  • To compete in simulated “Ryder Cup Team Matches” and a 54 hole SFE Spring Break Championship – individual format.
