Jon Roy, BA; CPGA Associate Coach for Henry Brunton Golf Jon Roy has
been teaching with Henry Brunton Golf since 2004 and is responsible for
the maintenance of Junior Golf Programs. Jon successfully earned
his "Class A" status with
the CPGA in 2007, receiving the "Tex Noble Memorial Award" for
achieving the highest mark in the country. Also in 2007, Jon was
named the OPGA "Teacher of the Year for Juniors".Originally a native of Beaconsfield, Quebec, Jon is a graduate (honours) of the University of Victoria. He has also completed the Humber College Professional Golf Management Graduate Program. Jon also is a certified GolfPsych Instructor and a lead fitter with the Titleist Fitting Centre. While studying at the University of Victoria, Jon was a founder of the "Vikes" golf team. He competed for and captained the inter-university squad for three years. In addition, he started a University of Victoria golf instruction program which promoted golf to over 200 students and staff at the school. He was the lead instructor for the "Future Links" junior program, the "Vikes" g olf camps and numerous group clinics for novices. Jon is an accomplished competitor and an outstanding all-around athlete. He plays regularly on the Great Lakes Tour and in professional events throughout Canada. Jon's vibrant personality and genuine desire to help others improve and enjoy the game of golf help make him a very effective teacher and coach. |
